I. Meeting called to order at 2:39 PM
II. Supply Drive (January Project)
      a) Collecting school supplies all this week and next week (member donations; teacher request mostly dry erase markers).
      b) Will also be using candy sale money on supplies.
      c) We will be needing volunteers when we put together bags for all 130+ teachers, more info to come
      d) 2 packages (of multiple items) or 4 individual items = 1 hour.
III. Seniors
      a) Please do hours early; want all seniors to walk at graduation with the NHS cord.
      b) May now turn in any hours in at anytime.
IV. Tutoring (Ben)
      a) Thanks for the amazing first half of tutoring; seeing tangible results.
      b) We will be taking a two week break from tutoring, and restarting on 1/28 for the second semester
V. Scrapbook (Jordan- Historian)
      a) Scrapbook theme: “We are the future; it starts now.”
      b) Vote to spend no more than $100 on scrapbook supplies

VI. First Semester Results
      a) Total hours from NHS members: 3,347 hours, 15 minutes

NHS MEETING AGENDA   12/14/09

I. Meeting called to order at 2:39 PM
II. Hours Collection (Ben)
      a) Last week for the 1^st semester hours to be turned in.
      b) Bring hours in on Tutoring Thursday and Eric will also take them after the meeting
      c) MAKE COPIES
      d) May turn in hours as well to officers (NOT DITAS)
III. Candy Sale (Ben)
      a) All money was turned in on time.
      b) Second phase of the project will start after winter break (teacher supply drive).
      c) Member donations, corporate donations, and candy money all go towards the drive.
      d) Everything will go into supply baskets given out to teachers.
IV. Drives
      a) Phones/Chargers (Jaime): Collecting old cell phones/chargers (women in distress) all this week in 3447. One item per hour (max three).
      b) Can tabs and shoes drives are still continuing.
      c) Book Collection for Invisible Children (John): so far 8^th in the world (3 books = 1hour) [collection ends on January 20^th]
V. Project Smile (Jaime)
      a) Raised $12,000!!!!
VI. Possible Upcoming Projects (Ben)
      a) Spring: Dodge ball Tournament, Habitat for Humanity (group activity), etc.
      b) All member ideas/projects are welcome.
      c) Members need to lead a project to be able to run for office next year.
      d) Email me over winter break bbting@aol.com, if you have an idea and/or want to lead a project.
VII. Ditas’s Address

1.  Making the PB&J Sandwiches (Ben)
         a)   Please work in assembly line fashion-Each section of the table making a different part of the sandwich.
         b)  At the end of the table please put the sandwiches in Ziploc bags to be picked up.
         c)   Please wash/Purell your hands before touching any food.
         d)  We will be having a short meeting before making the sandwiches. The quieter you are the sooner we will be done.
